I thirst... Father, into your hands...
Passage: John 19:28, Luke 23:46
In two of Jesus’ last sayings on the cross, we see clearly his humanity as well as his divinity. He is thirsty but he is also still in complete control, offering up his final breaths at the time he chooses and entrusting himself to his Father. Because of Jesus, we too can cry out in honesty about our weakness and pain. And like Jesus, we too can entrust ourselves and our circumstances to a good God knowing that He is in control, even in the darkness and can even resurrect us from death.
